Interesting Privacy Survey Results

  • 27% organizations named "getting budget" and "available resources" as their no. 1 challenge.
  • 49% have made governance of data processing and the formation of a privacy-aware culture a top priority.
  • 20% are making a new privacy technology implementation a priority only after privacy program have matured.
  • 57% of organizations have an annual budget of no more than $250,000 for data protection and privacy.
  • 76% of organizations have fewer than 10 employees in roles focused on data protection and privacy.
High-profile data breaches and leaks 2019 saw over 7,000 data breaches, up from about 6,500 in 2018. Over 15.1 billion records were exposed, making it an extremely active year in spite of fines being larger and more frequent than ever.
